Short Bio
I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the WV Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit at West Virginia University, but I plan to graduate with my doctoral degree in August 2023. For my dissertation research, I investigated long-term responses in bird communities and abundance to forest management and climate change in the Appalachian Mountains.
In general, I aim to study how wildlife species respond to human impacts, management actions, and environmental change, with a focus on avian ecology. I am interested in applied research and generating scientific knowledge in order to better inform and guide conservation and management efforts. My past research experiences encompass community, spatial, and landscape ecology.
My career goal is to become a Certified Wildlife Biologist and conduct ecological research as a federal scientist with a U.S. Forest Service or U.S. Geological Survey research station.

Hobbies and Interests
Aside from ecological research, I enjoy wildlife photography, nature walks, science communication, creative writing, and art. I am an avid birder, with a matching enthusiasm for seeing mammals, amphibians, and reptiles.
